The water-mill of Matsopoulos in Trikala - A First Approach
The Matsopoulos Mill is an important sample of industrial architecture and technology in Trikala and generally in Greece. Built in 1884, the biggest one in the Balkans, it has a unique architectural style (made of stone and wood), all three floors are wooden and the broader area is very greenish. As it is today used for cultural reasons, it attracts young people's interest. Along with our students, through brainstorming procedure we tried to identify various aspects of study about the mill. Students found out really interesting points (concerning the history, the technology, the ownership, the social contribution etc).
